PAINTING WITHIN PAINTING

As part of my redreaming exploration of light and dark the need to see in negative space becomes part of the painting process.......much of the work needs to be done in the absence of light...... it is fun........i shall constantly try for a night version........ digital cameras at this stage do not see the hidden image easily or more correctly i haven't learned how to do it yet.

Framed by the mature trees and seemingly floating in the sea mist the grandeur of a bygone age that is Harkness House.........playing with both composition and contrast.......i think it worked pretty well.....exploring with a camera pointing at the world encourages one to absorb consciously their surroundings i think.

As part of my involvement in Artwanted......i have met some great artists........James Shortridge is one of them........an amazing pencil artist i originally saw his work through this website. My dear husband and James on the Porch here in Connecticut.......

seems obvious to me that the www is bringing like minds together and for that i will always be glad about....... 

The Age of the Big Stick

Feeling like an alien in a new culture is a very threatening position to find oneself in and i concede it does not leave me unaffected. Ranting and raving against the 'machinery' of society that imposes limitations is a complete waste of energy I understand...... but when one finds the public constrains infiltrating the private world of the individual once wonders at the so called evolution of the species!

So this is where my thoughts are heading and the whole tower series is re-emerging as an icon of safeness against the impassive face of government impositions on my personal world.

We move onwards and outwards and become creative ...... but to be honest it is a SHAME that humanity is still stuck in the AGE OF THE BIG STICK...........
